Silina Pavlakis chaired the session on “Seaman Claims & Maritime Accidents” at the Vienna Annual Conference of Pan – European Organization of Personal Injury Lawyers (PEOPIL) on “Personal Injury in Times of Change”. Ioannis Pavlakis participated as a speaker at the conference with a presentation on the International Maritime Labour Organization Maritime Labour Convention 2006, which came into force on August 20, 2013. On November 17, 2013 the Boeing 737-53A operated by Tatarstan Airlines crashed in Kazan, Russia while trying to land killing all 50 passengers and crew aboard. Our firm has been retained by the families of 17 deceased passengers and crewmembers in actions against both manufacturers BOEING, owners and lessors AWAS and operator Tatarstan Airlines.

Christos Moschos and Ioannis M. Pavlakis were invited by the Embassy of the Philippines in Athens, Greece, to make a presentation and participate in the forum discussion of the Filipino Community in Athens on “The Rights and Responsibilities of Foreign Workers in Greece” held at the premises of the Embassy of the Philippines in Psyhico on 13/04/2013. The handout distributed to the participants entitled “Employment & Working Conditions of Foreigners in Greece & Related Matters” is available online in .pdf format.

In February 2013 Christos Moschos and Silina Pavlakis participated in a media and press conference in Kiev, Ukraine, on civil rights of Ukrainian citizens who suffer personal injury/death while in a European member state, whether as tourists or as workers or even as unlicensed immigrants.

Silina Pavlakis participated as a speaker in the International Seminar on Civil Liability, organized by the Malaga, Spain Bar Association with the presentation under the title “La Responsabilidad Civil derivada del transporte maritime de pasajeros y tripulantes”.
